Update

Hello, dear readers!

I hope you have all had a good month since my previous blog post, and that you didn't miss GSI TOO much :D

The last month I have been travelling a lot. I came home from the Commission/Infield-break on the 10th of january, and already sunday the 15th I was headed back out. Michael was unexpectedly called for a week's HIV/AIDS-"training of trainers". This training was going to be held in Kampala, and I thought "why not come along?" So I did. That is, I wasn't allowed to join the training, but at least I came along to Kampala, and spent a week there. Props to Vegge and Jørgensen who endured my companionship for a whole week. They really impressed me...

I came back from Kampala on sunday the 22nd of january to spend some days home in Lira. But also this time, very little time was spent at home. From wednesday to thursday Michael, Håkon and I were in Alebtong, where Michael showed off his "HIV/AIDS-training skills", while Håkon and I did showed our brilliant facilitation skills (handing out papers etc).

On friday morning I again turned my nose towards Kampala. I spent the weekend there, before my dear sister Kristina came to visit me on the sunday. Monday morning the two of us started a long journey. Our itinerary looked something like this:
Monday: Kampala-Lira 5 hrs
Tuesday: Lira-Mbale 5 hrs
Tuesday night: Mbale-Eldoret 7-8 hrs
Wednesday night: Eldoret-Nairobi 6 hrs

We arrived in Nairobi on thursday morning. Kristina was a Hald-student two years ago, and had three months of practice in Nairobi, as well as three months in Eldoret. Therefore, she has a lot of friends in Nairobi, and we pretty much spent the whole next week meeting all of these people. We stayed in a pretty overcrowded place, which at the most housed 8 boys at 12-16 years old, 4 grown men, me, my sister and another grown lady, spread out on four bedrooms. That's what you call quality bonding ;)

After a very nice week in Nairobi I took the nightbus back to Kampala, which arrived friday morning. I stayed there over the weekend, and sunday evening I was finally back in Lira.

There you have a quick update on my life. I wish you a very nice day/rest of week, and I will try to update the blog before another month passes. Peace out!
